Privacy Policy

SafeInhale ("we," "us," or "our") is an informational air, pollen, weather, and flu companion for the United States, built for people with allergies, asthma, and sinus problems. SafeInhale is a product of Intelligence Software Labs, based in the State of Nevada, United States. We are committed to a strict privacy-first approach. Your personal and health-related data remains under your control at all times.

SafeInhale is not a medical service, not a diagnostic tool, and not a substitute for professional medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical guidance, especially for asthma, allergies, or any respiratory condition.

1. Core Privacy Principles

• No account required. Use the app without signing up.
• On-device storage. Your profile and breathing journal stay on your device.
• No behavioral or cross-app tracking. We do not monitor your behavior across apps or services.
• No ads. No advertising, no data sharing with marketers.
• No data sales. We never sell or share your personal or health data.

2. Information We Collect (and Do Not Collect)

2.1 No Personal Identifiers

We do not collect your name, phone number, contacts, or photos. The app has no accounts. (If you email us through the website, see Section 9.)

2.2 Location (With Your Permission)

Your coordinates or ZIP code are sent to SafeInhale's server, which retrieves the requested environmental information from the providers listed in Section 3. SafeInhale's server processes your location or ZIP code only as necessary to retrieve and return the requested environmental information. Coordinates are rounded (to roughly 1 km) for caching. You can decline or revoke location access anytime and use a ZIP instead.

2.3 Information Stored Locally on Your Device

To provide personalized results, SafeInhale stores the following only on your device:

• Your profile: conditions (asthma, sinus, allergies), pollen/pollutant triggers, and sensitivity level
• Your breathing journal: how you feel, symptoms, and optional peak-flow readings
• Reading history and saved places
• App settings (language, theme, notification choice)

This information is never uploaded, transmitted, or accessible to us.

2.4 Device Access

• Location: used only to fetch local air, pollen, weather, and alert data.
• Notifications: used only to send the local alerts you opt into.
• Internet: used only to retrieve forecast data for your area.

3. Location and Third-Party Data

To display local conditions, SafeInhale's servers retrieve information from these public data providers, each under its own privacy policy:

• Open-Meteo — weather, air quality, UV, geocoding
• Google Pollen API — tree, grass, and weed pollen forecasts
• Pollen.com / IQVIA — supplementary pollen (fallback)
• AirNow / U.S. EPA — optional air-quality data
• National Weather Service (weather.gov) — current conditions and official alerts
• BigDataCloud — converts coordinates to a city/ZIP label
• Zippopotam.us — converts a ZIP you type into a location

When you request a forecast, only a location or ZIP is sent — no profile or journal. Requests may include standard network data such as an IP address. U.S. CDC FluView (via the Delphi Epidata API, Carnegie Mellon University) provides national flu activity, queried without sending your location or any personal data. All personalized analysis (your Breathe Score, verdicts, insights) is performed locally on your device.

4. How Your Data Is Used

All personalization happens on your device to:

• Combine air quality, pollen, weather, and flu into a personalized Breathe Score (0–100)
• Produce a plain read on whether conditions look favorable for going out, based on your conditions and triggers
• Show honest "can't verify" states when data is unavailable
• Display day-by-day trends and optional journal insights
• Maintain your reading history and saved places

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, tracking, or external analytics.

5. Data Storage, Retention, and Offline Use

• Your profile and journal are stored locally using your device's storage
• Recent forecasts are cached on your device for offline viewing
• You can delete your data at any time from within the app
• Uninstalling generally removes app data from the device; device backups may retain copies depending on your settings

Standard server logs may include an IP address, device type, request time, and error information. We do not use this information for advertising, behavioral tracking, or creating user profiles. We do not store your profile, journal entries, symptoms, peak-flow readings, or saved history on our servers.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell personal or health data. Limited information is processed by the service providers needed to deliver forecasts, website hosting, and forms — the forecast providers in Section 3 (which receive only a location or ZIP) and, on our website only, the form handling in Section 9. No renting your data, and no advertising networks.

7. Security

Because your data remains on your device, security depends on your device protections (passcode, biometrics, encryption). Keep your device secure and updated. We do not introduce additional risk through cloud storage of your profile or journal.

8. Your Rights and Control

• View and edit your profile and triggers at any time
• Delete your journal, reading history, or saved places
• Revoke location permission and use a ZIP instead
• Uninstalling generally removes app data from the device; device backups may retain copies depending on your settings

For users in regions with privacy laws such as GDPR or CCPA, most rights are exercised directly through the app due to local-only data storage. For website email, contact us to access or delete it.

9. Website Forms (Website Only)

When you submit a contact or newsletter form, we collect the information you enter, such as your name, email address, and message. Submissions are processed through our website hosting and email providers so that we can respond or send the updates you requested.

We do not sell this information, use it for targeted advertising, or intentionally collect medical records through website forms. Contact messages are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to respond and maintain appropriate business records. Newsletter information is retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion.

10. Children's Privacy

SafeInhale does not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 (or under 16 where applicable). The app has no accounts, but information may be stored locally on the device, and website forms collect information users voluntarily submit. Parents and guardians are responsible for configuring the app appropriately for children.

11. Health and Accuracy Disclaimer

SafeInhale is designed to assist, not replace, your judgment.

• Environmental data may be incomplete, delayed, or estimated
• Pollen levels are modeled forecasts, not direct measurements
• Air, weather, and flu data can change without notice
• Forecasts and the Breathe Score are informational, not guarantees

Always verify conditions independently and consult a qualified doctor for any health-related decisions, especially for asthma or allergies. You are solely responsible for decisions made based on the app's information. SafeInhale and its creators are not liable for any adverse outcomes resulting from use of the app.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be reflected here with a revised "Last Updated" date. Continued use of SafeInhale indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
